The ExactVerify email verification service guarantees that only legitimate and confirmed opt-in email addresses are collected and sent by our users

ExactVerify has a zero-tolerance spam policy. In order to address and reduce the harm caused by unsolicited mass email, we

1. Require our users to use our service only with verified opt-in data

2. Demand that users employ strategies to spot data that is not opt-in

3. Inform them about non-opt in data and how it is obtained

4. Proactively remove user accounts that don't adhere to our AUP and TOS

What we believe as non opt-in data

1. Purchased email addresses from a variety of sources

2. Obtaining email addresses by "harvesting" or "scraping" from websites and other internet resources

3. Email addresses that can be predicted using email appending, email harvesting, and permutation testing

4. Any email address where the recipient has not given their permission to be emailed in any way

How do we spot non opt-in data

1. By using our own compliance engine, abusive accounts are terminated after review and non opt-in data is automatically identified

To identify non opt-in and abusive data, ExactVerify uses several strategies, such as:

- Matching user data to a known list of data providers

- Detecting the patterns often used to forecast email addresses

- Identifying undeliverable email addresses below the threshold of opt-in data

2. The goal of the ExactVerify compliance team is to continuously check our users accounts for inappropriate patterns. Both new and established user accounts may receive an email asking for further details about their data source if our compliance team has any concerns

3. We take this as a failure on our part if the abuse occurred because it got past both our compliance team and our engine. We take the information provided through abuse reports to learn and continually improve our compliance workflow

How we keep our users informed

1. Our system sends the relevant notice through email and/or our user interface when it detects that user's data is not opt-in. The purpose of these messages is to make the users aware of our policies and to educate them about the value of opt-in data

2. The members of our customer support team are glad to help our users and explain our anti-spam policies, the reasons we only allow opt-in data, and the reasons we think it is best practice for their organisation to adhere to these standards

How we respond to abuse reports

No system is flawless, and we are no exception. If you feel our services have been used in a way that violates our Terms of Service, and Anti-Spam Policies, please let us know! We take abuse complaints seriously. Please contact us at abuseteam@exactverify.com. So, we can determine the underlying reason for the abuse and take appropriate actions if necessary.
